Burundi Action is a UK-based charity working to alleviate poverty and restore dignity among the most vulnerable in rural Burundi. We focus on orphaned children and impoverished families in remote villages, where access to basic needs is scarce. We provide essential aid such as food, clean water, clothing, and medical care. For orphaned children, we offer shelter, education, and emotional support, helping them grow in safety and with hope for the future. Many have lost parents through illness, poverty, or conflict, leaving them without care or guidance. We partner with trusted local teams to ensure help reaches those most in need quickly and directly. Our approach is guided by compassion, accountability, and respect for every individual. We listen first, act with humility, and seek sustainable solutions that empower communities to become self-reliant. With minimal overheads, every donation directly benefits those we serve. Though small, our vision is to see children educated, families nourished, and communities strengthened against the challenges of poverty. We act not out of pity but out of shared humanity, walking alongside those we help. Together, we can bring light, hope, and opportunity to Burundi’s most remote and forgotten places, one child and one family at a time.

We have supplied the poorest families of Mbuye, a remote village two hours away from Bujumbura with rice and essential aids for the last three years.
Last year, just before Christmas 2024, we have rescued five orphaned children who lived in abject poverty. They are now looked after by people who we trust in a nice house we rent in Bujumbura.
